Lot of items signed by the Enola Gay and Bockscar crews, the World War II aviators who flew the first atomic bomb missions, along with the signature of the Enola Gay Chaplain William Downey. The lot is rare in that it includes signatures by all 12 of the Enola Gay crew. Lot includes:
1) Enola Gay and Bockscar crew-signed photograph measuring 10.25'' x 8.25'' with many of the crew also writing details of their mission. Photo of the United Nations is signed by eight Enola Gay crew members: Pilot Paul Tibbets, Co-Pilot Bob Lewis, Bombadier Tom Ferebee, Navigator Dutch Van Kirk, Radio Operator Richard Nelson, Weapons Officer Morrison Jeppson, Flight Engineer Wyatt Duzenbury and Rear Gunner George Caron. Additionally signed by four Bockscar crew members: Pilot Charles Sweeney, Co-Pilots Charles Albury and Fred Olivi and Weaponeer Frederick Ashworth. With two first day stamps and cancellation celebrating the UN's 30th anniversary. Near fine condition.
2) ''Atoms for Peace'' first day cover signed by Enola Gay Assistant Flight Engineer Robert R. Shumard, and additionally signed by the Enola Gay Chaplain William B. Downey. Measures 6.5'' x 3.625''. Near fine condition.
3) D-Day third anniversary cover signed by Enola Gay Mission Commander and Weaponeer Williams S. Parsons. Measures 6.5'' x 3.625''. Near fine condition.
4) Card signed by Enola Gay Radar Operator Joe Stiborik who also writes details regarding the mission. Measures 6.5'' x 3.5''. Minor edgewear, overall near fine.
5) Index card signed by Enola Gay Radar Countermeasures Observer Jacob Beser who additionally writes details of the mission. Measures 5'' x 3''. Near fine condition.
