Emmy award won by CBS in 1957 for ''Playhouse 90''. Emmy was awarded to the network by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences in the category of ''Best Dramatic Series''. The show defied convention, running for 90 minutes rather than the industry standard 60 minutes. Its first season in 1956 was a 75% live telecast, with every fourth show taped in advance of airing. The following year ''Playhouse 90'' was prerecorded as one of the pioneering productions shot on video. In addition, its office was one of the first productions to occupy the CBS television building at the dawn of the medium's emergence as a major commercial and cultural force. The iconic winged woman holding an atom is made of metal and stands on the slightly convex, grid-lined surface of a round metal base. Measures 15'' in total height with a 7.5'' diameter base. Emmy statue with excellent patina is in near fine condition, save for an expert repair replacing bands on the atom.
