Edith Roosevelt signed hardcover copy of ''Ventures in Book Collecting'' by William Harris Arnold. Charles Scribner's Sons: New York: 1923. Inscription reads: ''Mr. and Mrs. N. Emerson - from Mrs. Theodore Roosevelt / June 2nd, 1931, Sagamore Hill''. Separate handwritten note below that reads: ''later presented by E. Emerson to John S. Mayfield / November 16, 1953 / Mountain View, California'' with the same person correcting an initial in Mrs. Roosevelt's inscription. First Lady Edith Roosevelt was President Theodore's second wife and remained with him until his death in 1919. Book runs 356pp. and measures 6'' x 9''. Some shelf wear and cracked front hinge. Interior is bright. Very good condition.
