Dwight Eisenhower here signs ''D.E.'' as President to a typed letter dated 7 July 1955 on White House stationery. He responds in a lengthy letter to his brother Edgar's request to speak at John Marshall Commission functions, ''...Please tell Justice Warren and your other associates on the John Marshall Commission that I will appear at either one or the other of the two ceremonies...I certainly cannot come back twice for this particular project...'' A copy of Edgar's letter is included. Measures 7'' x 10.5''. Folds and punch holes for filing, else near fine.
