Animation celluloid painting featuring Gaucho Goofy from ''Saludos Amigos,'' the 1942 Disney feature. Goofy is painted on the cel, swinging a lasso overhead. Walt Disney embarked on a goodwill tour of South America in 1941 to counteract Nazi influences in Latin America and included his characters as ambassadors. Cel measures 5'' x 6''. The lower right of the mat bears a Disney stamp, and a Courvoisier Galleries label is affixed to verso. Matted and framed to an overall size of 14'' x 14''. Separation to Goofy's neck, very light fading to paint, and partial lifting from background. In very good condition.
