Harper Lee autograph letter signed, dated 26 November 1990 to her friend, Doris Leapard. In this charming letter, Lee writes of a recent silly evening out: ''...I could not face my hostess without grinning, and found myself laughing through the evening for no apparent reason. It is hard to produce an appropriate funny story to explain sudden seizures of irrelevant giggling, especially when the conversation is about Euripidean drama...that dreadful husband of yours kept me occupied with rude stories...'' Lee wishes her friend a ''Merry Christmas & much love''. She signs, ''Nelle'', her first name. Two page letter measures 6'' x 8.5'', front and verso. Near fine condition.
Clever Harper Lee Autograph Letter Signed -- ''...thank you for alll the things you do, have done, and will do. (This reads like Nixon's pardon.)...''Clever Harper Lee Autograph Letter Signed -- ''...thank you for alll the things you do, have done, and will do.
