Clark Gable owned and used leather satchel, reflecting his interest in leather tooling as a hobby. Tooled leather bag features a caramel colored exterior, lined in a darker brown leather. Two panels divide the interior into three compartments. Satchel opens with a hinged lid with buckle and snap closure. A wide shoulder strap with matching tooled design is secured with metal rings. Underside is marked "N. Porter / Tuscon, Ariz. / Jett". Accompanied by a handsome 8" x 10" matte photo of Clark posing with the satchel. Photo bears the backstamp of "Chuck Abbot Photo / 'The Cowboy Photographer' / Tuscon, Arizona" and shows toning and paper loss to verso, else very good. Bag measures 9.5" x 9" x 5". Light wear to corners, else near fine. From the estate of Jean Garceau, Gable's secretary.
