Chuck Yeager signed Bell X-1 model airplane, the plane Yeager piloted on 14 October 1947 when he broke the sound barrier in a dangerous, top-secret flight not disclosed to the public until a year later. Model plane is a 1/32 scale model, signed ''Chuck Yeager'' in black felt-tip on the right wing. Lot also includes Chuck Yeager's signed autobiography, signed in black felt-tip by Yeager without inscription. Plane measures 11.5'' long x 9.25'' wide x 7.25'' tall as displayed. Near fine condition. Both items were signed by Yeager at the National Air and Space Museum, with tickets from the event included.
