Original ''Peanuts'' comic strip, hand-drawn by creator Charles Schulz. In this four-panel strip, Charlie Brown is at bat, mentally preparing himself to be ''a hero,'' although by strike 2 on the last panel, Charlie's chances aren't looking too good. United Features Syndicate label on left side dates the strip to 1959; it ran on 3 September 1959. Mounted to a heavy paper board, strip measures 29'' x 7''. Schulz adds a handwritten dedication to the second panel and signs it with his nickname, ''Sparky''. Mild toning and a paperclip rust outline to the top edge. Very good condition.
