Beautifully rendered watercolor by western artist Charles M. Russell of a Blackfoot Native American in profile, signed and completed with Russell's buffalo skull emblem. Artwork is signed ''Compliments of CM Russell'', done on the flyleaf of his illustrated book, ''Rhymes From a Round Up Camp''. New York: G.P. Putnam's Sons, 1903. Book is also signed by its author Wallace David Coburn, who inscribes below Russell's watercolor, ''To Julian Beard[?] / With compliments of his friend / Wallace D. Coburn / Great Falls Mont. / Dec-9-1903''. Bound in publisher's red boards with gilt embellishments, book measures 5.5'' x 7.75''. Some shelf wear, light discoloration to boards, and separation starting to front joint. Overall very good condition with a near fine artwork page.
