Charles de Gaulle signed copy of ''Memoires de Guerre.'' Paris: Libraire Plon: 1954-59. The French President signs upon the front free endpaper of Volume I, translated, ''To Jean Chapeyrou, in memory of a grand spouse / Kind regards! / C. de Gaulle / 3.5.55''. The three volume set, in French, covers the war years of 1940-46, when de Gaulle, as General, led the Free French Forces and became the Prime Minister of the French Provisional Government. Each volume concludes with a foldout map of World War II activity. The soft cover books measure 5.5'' x 9''. Volume II and III have original dustjackets; Volume I is without dustjacket. Chipping and 3'' tear to front cover of Volume I; light toning to pages. Overall in good to very good condition.
