Original art used in the creation of a promotional ad for ''Camille'', the 1936 drama starring Robert Taylor and Greta Garbo in her Oscar-winning role as lovers in a forbidden romance. Drawing of the pair is likely rendered in charcoal and pastel or oil crayon on paper, in black, white and grey with delicate pink at the center for Garbo's bridal bouquet. Accompanied by a period lithograph of the finished illustration in an ad promoting the film. The only alteration made to this version apparent in the final in print is the addition of green to the bouquet. Original art measures 15.75'' x 11.25''. Irregular edges and adhesive to lower left corner, with some surface loss to verso. Very good. Lithograph print is mounted to paperboard to an overall size of 30'' x 14''. Provenance from Bonhams' auction of Entertainment Memorabilia including Animation Art, held in Los Angeles on 18 November 2012. lot 2037.
