Cesar Romero's costume from the first season of ABC's television series, ''Batman.'' Opera clown costume was worn by Romero in the role of the Joker. Comprises a long champagne satin tunic with applied black pompom buttons along the front, matching billowing pants, a clown's ruff made of beige netting, and a cone-shaped clown's hat with a single black pompom. Designed to resemble the tragic clown ''Pagliacci'' from Leoncavallo's opera, and seen in ''The Joker is Wild'' which first aired on 26 January 1966. Near fine condition. With provenance from Julien's.
