Carl Jung typed letter signed, dated 21 December 1953 on his personal stationery. Jung writes in German to fellow psychoanalyst, Dr. Rivkah Scharf, translated in full: ''Dear Doctor, Even though I can understand, that under the currently prevailing situation you would have liked to see me, I must tell you that, unfortunately, I have no more free time left. Not even after Christmas, since I will probably travel to the Tessin on the 28th or 29th of December, and before then, there is a major family event that I will not be able to attend without preparations. / I wish you all the patience that you will need and a good transition into the new year. / Your faithful [signed] C.G.
