Carl Jung autograph letter signed with an oblique reference to emotional struggles Jung was experiencing at the time. Composed on 12 April 1949 on his personal stationery, Jung writes to fellow psychoanalyst Dr. Rivkah Scharf, translated from German in full,

''Dear Doctor! / Thank you very much for your kind letter! I was interested in learning just what you were doing in London. I was very pleased that you were granted more time for the Gilgamesh, and also about your visit to the British Museum. The Assyro-Babylonian collection is magnificent.

I am not doing anything here, but I am thinking, or rather, thoughts are rolling around inside me that do not allow me to be in a holiday mood. The body is not doing too badly. The self is confronting me with tremendous problems. / All the best, and please give my regards to everybody I know. / Your devoted / C.G. Jung''.

Single page measures 8.25'' x 11.375''. Folds, overall near fine with bold handwriting. With original envelope composed in Jung's hand.
