Carl Jung autograph letter signed, composed on 9 January 1947 on his personal stationery. Jung writes to fellow psychoanalyst Dr. Rivkah Scharf, translated from German in full,

''Dear Doctor! / Please accept my warmest thanks for sending me the von Hammer-Purgstall paper. He usually comes upon interesting and inspiring subjects. I am slowly getting better. I am now able to get out of bed for a few hours each day, during which time I must painfully relearn how to walk. However, I still cannot get rid of the feeling that I am existing on the sharp point of a hypodermic needle. / Best wishes for the New Year, / gratefully your devoted / C.G. Jung''.

Single page measures 8.25'' x 5.875''. Vertical fold, overall near fine. With original envelope embossed with Jung's address.
