Herbert Ponting, Captain Scott's photographer on the ill-fated Terra Nova expedition, autograph letter signed dated 3 February 1927. Ponting writes to a Mr. Robinson,''I have just had the notice of your new book which I hope to get the chance to read soon...you know I loved 'The Great Beginning'. You are a worker...I have been engaged in such awfully interesting research and innovative work...H.G. Ponting.'' Ponting left the Antarctic after 14 months at Cape Evans with iconic and enduring images of the tragic expedition. Toned 8'' x 10'' letter has some creasing and slight separation at the folds. Overall very good condition.
