Booker T. Washington manuscript letter signed, dated 12 May 1906 on Tuskegee Institute stationery. Washington signs as Principal of the Institute, here requesting a donation, writing ''Our endowment is not yet sufficient to enable us to pay the expenses without asking for help...[signed] Booker T. Washington''. Letter measures 8'' x 9.75''. Slip glued to bottom portion of letter, obscuring two letters in the signature. Some discoloration, overall in very good condition.
