Bing Crosby typed letter signed as host of NBC's Kraft Music Hall radio show, just two years before his most enduring performance in ''White Christmas''. Letter, dated 25 October 1939 reads in part, ''Miss Hoffman, You have my permission, without charge, to use my doodle and name, and a favorable analysis made from my doodle in your daily newspaper feature series entitled Doodlegrams, for purposes of trade. I understand that a doodle analysis will be offered the public in these articles so that they can see in what way their personality traits resemble or parallel the outstanding people of the day...Bing Crosby''. Single-page letter is matted and framed to an overall size of 15.75'' x 26.5'' along with a vintage poster promoting Cosby's 1943 biopic ''Dixie''. Signed letter and poster have not been removed from frame display. Viewable area of the letter measures 8'' x 6'' and of the poster, 8.75'' x 11.5''. Toning and creasing to letter and fading to ink of poster, else both appear near fine.
