''The Diary of Anne Frank'' 1959 Academy Award nomination plaque. The film was nominated for 8 Oscars and won 3, this representing the coveted category of Best Picture. George Stevens is named on the certificate as Producer of the 20th Century-Fox feature. Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett adapted the original diary for the stage in 1955, earning the Pulitzer Prize in the process, and the Broadway production won the Tony Award. Goodrich and Hackett again adapted the piece for the 1959 screen version here nominated. B.B. Kahane signs as Academy President and Hal Elias countersigns as Secretary. Certificate is inlaid in a wooden plaque with gilt trim, to an overall size of 11.75'' x 13.5''. Some surface scratching, else near fine.
