Arthur Ashe award plate from a 1974 tennis win in Bologna. The following year, the tennis great would win the singles title at Wimbledon, the first time that title was won by an African American player. Silver plate is engraved, ''Coppa Astor / Bologna 1974 / Il Vincitore [winner]''. Backstamped ''Fornari Romo''. Measures 10.75'' in diameter. Some tarnishing, else near fine. With an LOA from Arthur Ashe's widow.
