Aston Villa 1902-1903 medal awarded to the team's trainer J. Grierson upon their FA Senior Cup win at Birmingham District & Counties. Medal in 9 carat gold is in the shape of a shield containing inlaid enamel in red and blue with a white stripe through center. A blue enamel scroll stretches across, reading, ''Birmingham District & Counties Football Assoc.'' Verso is engraved ''Senior Cup / Winners / 1902-3 / Aston Villa / F.C. / J. Grierson / (Trainer)''. Medal is struck with British gold stamps and Vaughtons maker's mark. Includes loop for suspending. Measures 1''x 1.75''. Weighs 0.75 ounce or 22 grams. Near fine.
