Interesting typed letter signed ''R.E. Peary'', shortly after Peary's 1906 expedition to the North Pole. Dated 17 December 1906, Peary discusses his speaking fees: ''...I hope to be able to deliver a very limited number of lectures...the requests for such lectures are so numerous...I am obliged to [fix] the sum of $250...should these terms meet your approval I...should present fifty to sixty entirely new colored maps and slides of regions never trodden by human foot before...'' 8'' x 10.5'' single page letter has expected folds, else fine.
