Andre Breton autograph letter signed to the director of the socialist periodical ''Argus de la Presse''. Dated 2 October (November based on content) 1924 on ''The Surrealist Revolution / Bureau of Surrealist Research'' letterhead, Breton complains about cuts to the paper, resulting in poor service. French letter translates in part, ''...cuts continue to be made in spite of common sense. While one sends me at every moment notes of newspapers concerning a Mr. Breton, politician, a Mr. Le Breton, professor, and even Bretons dead in the war or having answered inquiries in 1852, I make sure by consulting the cuts that you address to the Bureau of research surrealists 15 rue de Grenelle that I receive hardly any more of what can interest me...'' He then notes articles published in October 1924 in ''Le Thyrse'', ''...You understand like me that this state of affairs can not last I am your customer long enough for you to fix it...Andre Breton''. Two page letter on one sheet measures 8.25'' x 10.5''. Faint folds, file holes to left side and light toning, overall in very good plus condition.
