Receipt signed by Almanzo Wilder, husband of author Laura Ingalls Wilder. Dated 1 August 1944, Wilder confirms receipt of $10.00 from H.L. Shorter as payment on a land contract. Composed entirely in his hand with graphite pencil. Receipt measures 5.875'' x 2.375''. Tape residue along right side, chip at top and light wear. Overall very good condition.
