Albert Einstein autograph letter signed to his brother-in-law Paul Winteler from Einstein's summer home in Caputh, Germany. Einstein's sister (and Paul's wife) Maja, is visiting Einstein, who writes an entertaining letter in German on 10 August 1930, translated, ''Dear Pauli! / The little picture you sent me made me very happy. It seems to radiate a feeling of dry heat, which, in our current frog-like existence here, triggers beautiful distant memories. We are quite cheerful together here in our pastoral tranquility. Maja is already getting quite good at sailing. Too bad that there is no work opportunity for a sailor in Florence. It's a good thing that you are skilled in the domestic arts, so that being a grass widower is not too hard on you. I have already tried this as well, but with less than moderate success, because I could not get the hang of cooking too well. / Best greetings from your / Albert.'' Single page letter measures 8.5'' x 11''. Mild creasing, otherwise near fine condition.
