Ticket and pass for admission to the first U.S. Presidential impeachment trial on 27 April 1868. Ticket #291 entitled its bearer to admittance to the gallery specifically for the trial. Attendees witnessed Andrew Johnson's trial as a result of The House of Representatives charge that he violated the Tenure of Office Act by attempting to rid himself of his Secretary of War without the consent of the Senate. Johnson was acquitted by one vote. Lot also includes a pass to enter the Senate. Both items in very good condition.
