Academy Award certificate nominating George Pal for the production of ''The Five Hundred Hats of Bartholomew Cubbins'', an animated short film based on the Dr. Seuss story, released in 1943. The inventor of the animated technique known as ''Puppetoon'', Pal was nominated for an Academy Award in the animation category for seven straight years from 1942-1948. With Academy seal at lower left, certificate measures 10'' x 11.5''. Toning and very light foxing. Very good condition.
