Handsome military appointment signed by Abraham Lincoln, with virtually no toning and signed with Lincoln's full name, ''Abraham Lincoln''. Document appoints Seth S. Hammon to the Veterans Reserve Cops with the rank of Second Lieutenant. Dated 1 August 1864, signed by Lincoln as well as Secretary of War Edwin Stanton as Secretary of War. Visible portion of vellum document measures 14.5'' x 18'', matted and framed to a size of 33'' x 27''. Folds as issued, minor fading and soiling. Not examined out of frame, but appears in very good plus condition.
