Daytime Emmy presented to Executive Producer Jimmy R. Allen for the program ''China: Walls And Bridges''. It won in the category of Outstanding Special Class Program Area at the 1988-89 Daytime Emmy Awards. Bernie Hargis directed, and famous Chinese-American humanitarian Yue-Sai Kan hosted the documentary, which explored the religions and spirituality of the people of China. Allen was an international preacher who also worked as a production director on nearly thirty documentaries shot in Israel, Europe, Canada and China. This was his only Emmy. The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences was formed in 1946 and began recognizing excellence with the annual award ceremony in 1949. The iconic winged woman holding an atom is made of metal and stands on the slightly convex, grid-lined surface of a round metal base. The base's flat perimeter reads ''The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences''. Front section is engraved with 5 lines naming the award, its category and recipient. Measures 15.5'' in total height with a 7.5'' diameter base. Weighs 4 lbs., 4.75 oz. Black felt lining is affixed to underside. Daytime Emmy has a few areas of tarnish to the figure and light scratching and tarnishing, else near fine condition.
