Autograph letter signed by a prisoner in the Sachsenhausen concentration camp. Letter is stamped with the date 30 April 1944, a year before the camp was liberated by Soviet forces. The writer, Kasic Roman, writes his date of birth as ''8.6.08'' upon the verso, followed by ''#63654 Bloc 1a Hei. / Near Berlin''. He writes to Natalia Oszczygiet in Warsaw, in German as required. Text translates, ''My dear Nadeczko! I am letting you know that I'm well and I ask the dear God to protect you. I thank you for the letter and the parcels I have received from you and Mother. Sabein has also sent me a post card. Easter holidays I celebrated nicely. Only the longing for you gave me no rest. My best greetings to Jozio, his wife and daughter and Syzio. Kisses for you and family. Especially for you. I thank you especially for everything you have done for me. Again I kiss you...'' Single-page letter on concentration camp stationery measures 5'' x 8''. Toning, creasing and chipping to edges of delicate leaf. Very good.
