Signed limited edition of Theodore Roosevelt's ''Big Game Hunting in the Rockies and on the Great Plains''. New York: G.P. Putnam's Sons, 1899. Number 166 of 1,000 in the limited edition. Elegant fountain ink signature to pictorial frontispiece reads ''Theodore Roosevelt'' beneath a photograph showing Roosevelt in Rough Rider regalia taken by Civil War photographer George G. Rockwood. This volume combines two previous Roosevelt books ''Hunting Trips of a Ranchman'' and ''The Wilderness Hunter'', and measures 8.5'' x 11''. Missing front and rear boards, but interior is generally well-preserved, with all 55 illustrations present and with their descriptive tissue guards. Signed Rough Rider photograph of Roosevelt has some foxing and toning, but overall in very good plus condition.
