President William Howard Taft official White House invitations for a 6 February 1912 reception. Two invitations in original White House envelope, addressed to Mr. and Mrs. Conway, and reading in part, ''...The President and Mrs. Taft request the pleasure of the company of Mr. Conway at a reception to be held at The White House...'' Original envelope has ''Mr. Peter V.D. Conway'' addressed in an unknown hand. Invitations measure 5.5'' x 4.5'' with minor toning and foxing throughout, else near fine.
