Napoleon Bonaparte letter signed with a prominent ''Napoleon'' signature, more desirable than his initialed signature. Dated 11 September 1808, letter to his Treasury Minister Count Mollien translates from French, ''Have King Charles paid for the month of July and the Queen of Etruria for the month of August.'' King Charles is likely Charles IV of Spain who fled to France earlier in 1808 after an uprising in Spain, ultimately leading to the Peninsular War between France and Spain. Single page letter measures 7.25'' x 9''. Folds and two small tape remnants on verso at top. Near fine condition with a bold signature. Accompanied by a color engraving of Napoleon.
