Inscription reads: ''Dear Jessie: A Merry Christmas to you, Affectionately, Jack. / Oakland, Calif, Christmas, 1904''. Macmillan Company: New York: 1904. Illustrated by Philip R. Goodwin and Charles Livingston Bull, with eleven full-page color plates, seven in blue functioning as chapter dividers, and numerous textual illustrations. In original publisher's olive green boards. A bright copy in very good condition.
