Carl Jung autograph letter signed, composed on a postcard to his mentee, psychoanalyst Dr. Rivkah Scharf Kluger, who at the time of this letter was helping Jung with his book ''Psychology and Alchemy''. Postmarked 23 July 1943 from Zurich, Jung writes in full, translated from German:
''Dear Miss! / I shall be back at home on the 2nd of August (Monday), and I would be able to see you then at 10 o'clock in the morning. I noticed that you still troubled yourself with corrections to my book as well. There has been an insane amount of work for several people, not even counting myself. I do hope that the book will be worth the effort. At this time, however, people will not yet understand it; understanding will come sometime in the future. / Best regards, / Your devoted / C.G. Jung''.
He adds a postscript, ''Please tell Mrs. Jaffe* that I thank her very much for her reports and that I will see her here on Monday, the 2nd of August, at four o'clock in the afternoon. / *I do not have her address at hand right now.''
Postcard measures 4.125'' x 5.875''. Uniform toning, else near fine with bold handwriting. Letters by Jung are quite rare; his pioneering work in psychoanalysis and mythology has greatly influenced diverse fields such as literature, anthropology, religious studies, psychology and psychiatry.
