Set of two Winston Churchill unsigned notes, one as Prime Minister, regarding publication of his highly acclaimed memoir, ''The Second World War''. The first note on 19 June 1951 is to Commodore Gordon Allen, part of his ''Syndicate'' who helped him write the book series. Note reads in part, ''...I think you are working on a very good plan. Let me have it in instalments [sic] as I like to keep the Printer occupied. We must have a talk together soon. / W.S.C. / 19.6.51.'' Note measures 7.5'' x 9.5''. Folds and creasing, overall near fine condition. Second note on Churchill's Prime Minister letterhead is dated 27 October 1952, reading, ''PRIVATE OFFICE. / The figures in this must be checked to see if they are correct. Commodore Allen might look through it to see if it is all right. / W.S.C. / 27.10.52.'' Letterhead measures 3.5'' x 8''. Hole punch at upper left, and rust from paperclip impression, else near fine.
