Moe Howard autograph letter signed ''Your Sweetheart'', composed to his wife in 1935 upon the birth of their son Paul, born 8 July 1935. Written on Hotel Avery stationery in Boston, Howard writes in part, ''...I can't begin to tell you how happy I am...I bought a box of cigars for the boys in the theatre and a box of candy for the women on the bill...I felt as though my heart just got so big and if I were near you I would have taken it out and given it to you...'' Howard then composes a poem, signing it ''Your Sweetheart / Ever''. Two page letter on a single sheet measures 6'' x 9.5''. Folds and light foxing, else near fine.

Letter and poem read in full,

"Darling Beansie, Joansie & Paul Jules Howard?
I hope you are all well. I'm feeling fine & dandy. Gee honey I can't begin to tell you how happy I am. And how anxious I am to see you and the little man. To tell you how happy you've made me. You sounded so sweet over the phone honey, and all you talked about was the little filler nothing about yourself, It sounded as though you were as happy as I was over the out come. I sent about 7.00 worth of wires and received congratulation's from Sam Breskin for Columbia, and from Leo Morrisson. I bought a box of cigars for the boys in the theatre and a box of candy for the women on the bill. And went to a cab, with the boys and they awarded you more than I do it was at that moment I felt as though my heart just got so big and if I were near you I would have taken it out and given it to you.

'To an angel.'
You've played for me a queenly role
For which, I, you adore,
You've given me your heart and soul
Could one man ask for more

You bore a girl my pride & joy,
I thought my life complete,
And now you bless me with a boy
My life, my love. My Sweet.

God bless you Beansie. For everything
The Pen and my heart are too full to write.

Your Sweetheart
Ever

Did you let my Mother & Father know."
