Gold medal issued to J. Lees, director of Hampden Park Stadium in Scotland in 1923, awarded in commemoration of His Royal Highness Duke of York's visit. Obverse features a pair of enameled crests, the year and ''Hampden''. Reverse is engraved to Lees citing the occasion. Gold hallmarks to reverse include maker's mark of William Walter Cashmore of Birmingham. Accentuated with a crown finial and articulated ring. Housed in original paper box from Geo. Jeffrey in Bathgate. Measures 1'' x 1.5''. Weighs 16 grams, approximately half an ounce. Near fine.
