Handsome military-issue watch owned and worn by Apollo 12 astronaut Pete Conrad. The charismatic Conrad was the third man to walk on the moon, touching down on the surface while commanding the Apollo 12 space mission. This watch was gifted by Conrad to NASA employee Jerry Peterson after they worked together on the famed Skylab project, the mission that established the United States' first manned orbiting space station. During the mission, Mr. Peterson was an inspector for pre-flight testing; as a result of a simulated motion sickness test gone awry, Conrad gifted this watch to Peterson as thanks for his work on the project. Corrosion resistant steel GG-WW-113 model watch with acrylic crystal face was manufactured on October of 1969. The fully functional ''eight-day'' wind-up watch is attached to a woven nylon band with metal tang-type buckle and leather strips. Engraved to the back of the face are the federal stock number 66450664279, manufacturing part number 39986, container number GS-06s-2648 and the serial number 36084. Watch face measures 1.5'' in diameter. Watch has a new mainspring and has been serviced regularly. Near fine condition. With a COA by Jerry Peterson.
