Elvin Hayes Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame plaque. Awarded to Hayes on 15 May 1990 after an incredible career on both the San Diego/Houston Rockets and the Baltimore/Capital/Washington Bullets. He played 1,303 games over 16 seasons, registering 27,313 points (eighth all-time) and 16,279 rebounds (fourth all-time). During his college years, Hayes became the University of Houston's first African American basketball player in 1966 along with Don Chaney. Plaque features a portrait of a young Hayes engraved into a circular metal plaque. With ''Elving Hayes / Elected as a Player / Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame / May 15, 1990'' engraved beneath. Plaque measures 8.25'' x 12'' and is matted in black and framed in wood to an an overall size of 12.5'' x 16'' x 1.25'' deep. A few very minor spots of wear to plaque and two very minor scratches to frame, else fine. Obtained directly from Hayes.
