Claude Monet autograph letter signed. Letter from the father of impressionism is addressed to one ''Delisle'' and dated 14 September 1917. Monet's letter in French translates in full to: ''Sir / In response to your letter of the 10th of this month. I regret to inform you of my brothers death. He passed away last Tuesday at the age of 82, after a long and painful disease. Please accept sir my sincere feelings / Claude Monet''. 2pp. letter is written in pencil and signed in ink on a single sheet of linen stationery from Monet's garden estate Giverny Par Vernon Eure. Measures 8'' x 10''. Creasing, else near fine.
