Ernest Hemingway autograph letter signed a year before his death. Dated 31 July 1960, letter to his son Jack in Paris reads in part, "Dear Bum [Bumby, his nickname]: Enclosed check which did not mail from Cuba. Have to go to Spain to tie up the end of the bull fighting piece that Life will publish. Will write you [a]gain soon as have time. Hope Margot and all family OK. And that you got last letter. Is 254 Cleveland Avenue, Mill Valley, Cal. still correct address? Let me know to guaranty Paris - wish did not have to make this trip - am not in good shape after over-work and no cool-out and eyes bothering badly. But merde as always mille fois. Ein K'ss auch. Papa." Single-page letter measures approximately 6.5" x 10". Toning and creasing, else near fine.
