First issue book features the Scribner ''A'' and seal to the copyright page. Hemingway's tale about an old Cuban fisherman who engages in a violent battle to conquer a giant Marlin in the Gulf Stream earned the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 1953 and is among his most important works. Runs 140pp. Bound in sky blue fabric boards with silver lettering to the spine. Foxing to edges, endpapers and a good deal of discoloration to cloth, else near fine.
