U.S. flag flown in space aboard the Columbia on NASA's very first space shuttle mission. This "Stars and Bars" orbited Earth 36 times in the shuttle. Flag is mounted to a certificate bearing mission insignia and photos of the spacecraft, along with a printed statement that reads: "Presented to Raymond L. Clark / This flag was flown aboard Space Shuttle 'Columbia' (STS-1) April 12-14, 1981. It is presented to you in recognition of the significant contribution you made to the success of the mission." Flag measures 5.75" x 4". Certificate measures 8.5" x 11". Toning to certificate, else near fine.
