Eugene O'Neill signed copy of ''Lazarus Laughed,'' Boni & Liveright, Inc.: New York: 1927. The author, who won the Nobel and Pulitzer Prizes, signs the limitation page Eugene O'Neill'' in black ink. Partially printed page indicates this is No. 549 of ''...775 numbered copies of which 750 are for sale...'' O'Neill's dramatization of the Biblical Lazarus' resurrection from the dead has been likened by critics to Greek tragedy and the miracle plays popular during the Middle Ages. 179pp. with deckled edges are bound in decorative paper boards measuring 6.25'' x 9.25''. Bookseller's tiny label is affixed to the rear pastedown. Discoloration to boards and pencil erasure to front free endpaper, else near fine.
