''Christina's World'' print signed by its artist Andrew Wyeth. The American painter's work has come to be regarded as a modern art icon, the original showcased at the The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Wyeth's signed dedication appears in blue felt tip on the image's border at the lower left. The realist painter's neighbor Christina Olson is the subject; a survivor of polio, she moves across the barren land as best she can, her weathered house and barn in the distance. Her head, however, was based on that of Wyeth's wife Betsy. The buildings are actual structures in Maine that have been turned into a museum due to the popularity of this 1948 piece. Matted and framed in wood that suggests the boards of the house and barn, to an overall size of 34.75'' x 26.5''. Tearing to the frame's paper backing, else fine.
