The Nobel Prize winning playwright pens a lengthy inscription to the half-title page on 5 October 1934 from his home in Ayot St Lawrence, ''Dear D. Shaw / This afternoon is impossible: as you see, I am out of reach. / I shall be in London tomorrow. If you ring up Whitehall 3160 my secretary may be able to fix up a meeting for us. / faithfully / G. Bernard Shaw''. Measures 5'' x 7.125''. Housed in original dust jacket, which is chipped with some paper loss, in fair condition. Bound in light green boards with gilt lettering. Some toning to interior pages, otherwise book is near fine.
