First edition, first printing of ''James and the Giant Peach'' by Roald Dahl, housed in the original first printing dust jacket, and beautifully illustrated throughout by Nancy Ekholm Burkert. New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1961. With all first printing points present, including 5-line colophon on author page, including ''Bound by H. Wolff, New York'' line; no mention of the Charlie series; and no edition or printing stated on copyright page. Dust jacket also shows the original $3.95 price, with no ISBN number to rear. Book measures 7.375'' x 10.25'' and runs 119pp. Some rubbing to jacket, with small areas of loss at seams, overall in very good condition. Book shows two gift inscriptions to front free endpaper and dedication page, otherwise a stunning, well-preserved copy; overall in very good condition.
