Twice-signed document by Matthew Thornton, member of the Continental Congress from New Hampshire, medical doctor, and signer of the Declaration of Independence. Thornton here signs in his capacity as Justice of the Peace, dated 17 June 1769. Document concerns a land agreement between two individuals residing in Henniker and Weare, New Hampshire. Measures 7.5'' x 12''. Archival tape to verso. Very good condition.
